Rough And Decorative Rock

   Below is a list of our available rough rock.   In any order we will select the best pieces available for you at the time of the order.   Unless noted, our pictures are representative of the material on hand.

Green/Red Jasper

• This is fancy Green/Red Jasper from India.  It will work for tumbling, cabochons or as a nice rock specimen.
   

• For size reference a fist size piece will weigh approximately 1 pound.
   

• In any 5 pound or larger order, we will select an assortment of small to large fist size pieces for you.

Blue Tiger Eye

• This is small fist size to slightly larger pieces of high quality blue tiger eye.  This is great for tumbling or cutting material.
   
• For size reference, this rock will come in 1-2 pound larger pieces.

Labradorite

• These are nice larger Labradorite rocks from Madagascar.  They will work great for cutting, tumbling, cabochons or as nice rock specimens.
   

• For size reference; the two larger pieces pictured to the left together weighed over 5 1/4 pounds.

South Dakota Petrified Wood

• This is very nice, above average quality Petrified wood from South Dakota.  It will work for tumbling, cabochons or as a nice rock specimen.

Zebra Marble

• This is Zebra Marble from Utah.  It will work for cabochons, carving, specimen and great for decoration.  It also makes nice tumbled stones but it requires a special technique.

Turritella Agate

• This is Turritella Agate from Wyoming.  It will work for cabochons, carving, specimens and great for decoration.  It also makes nice tumbled stones.  It is full of Turritella fossils.

Oolite

• This is Oolite or Fish Egg.  It will work for cabochons, carving, specimens and great for decoration.  It also makes nice tumbled stones.

White Quartz

• This is snow White Quartz from India in nice larger pieces.  It will work nicely for cabochons, carving, specimens and great for decoration.  It also makes nice tumbled stones.

Fluorite

• This is Fluorite from China.  It will work nicely for cabochons, carving, specimens and great for decoration.  It also makes nice tumbled stones but it requires a special technique.

Stromatolite

• This is a different item here at the Rock Shed.  This is Stromatolite from Wyoming.   It will work nicely for cabochons, carving, specimens and great for decoration.  Not every rock you receive will have the "bumpy top" shown in the pictures.
